Ming Wang (* 5. November 1962 in Taipeh, Taiwan) ist eine taiwanesisch-deutsch-östereichische Komponistin.

Leben

Ming Wang wurde am 5. November 1962 in Taipeh geboren, wo sie chinesische Musik an der Chinese Culture University studierte.
Ab 1986 studierte sie Komposition bei NanChang Chien in Taipeh und ab 1989 elektronische elektronische Komposition bei Dieter Kaufmann an der Universität für Musik und Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst in Wien und schloss in beiden Fächern 1997 und 2003 mit Auszeichnung ab und erwarb den Magistertitel.

Seit 1989 ist sie Dozentin für Musikwissenschaft und unterrichtet traditionelle chinesische Musik an der Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in München und an der Universität Wien. Außerdem konzertierte sie in mehreren Ländern auf der Guzheng und Pipa (chinesische Zither und Laute).

Ming Wang hat mit vielen renommierten Dirigenten, Solisten und Ensembles zusammengearbeitet. Ihre instrumentalen und elektronischen Kompositionen wurden bei verschiedenen Festivals aufgeführt, darunter das Keelung Modern International Music Festival in Taiwan, dem Festival Wien Wiener Moderne, dem Carinthischen Sommer und dem Steirischen Herbst in Österreich.

Zu den zahlreichen Preisen, die sie erhalten hat, gehören das Staatsstipendium des österreichischen Bundeskanzleramtes, der Förderungspreis der Stadt Wien, der Ehrenpreis für Komponisten Förderpreis der Stadt Wien, ein Ehrenpreis des Bundesministeriums für Unterricht Bundesministeriums für Unterricht, Kunst und Kultur und ein Förderungspreis der

Life

Ming Wang was born on 5 November 1962 in Taipei, where she studied Chinese music at the Chinese Culture University.
From 1986 she studied composition with NanChang Chien in Taipei and from 1989 electronic composition with Dieter Kaufmann at the University of Music and University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, graduating with distinction in both subjects in 1997 and 2003 and earning a master’s degree.

Since 1989 she has been a lecturer in musicology and teaches traditional Chinese music at the Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich and at the University of Vienna. She has also performed in several countries on the guzheng and pipa (Chinese zither and lute).

Ming Wang has collaborated with many renowned conductors, soloists and ensembles. Her instrumental and electronic compositions have been performed at various festivals, including the Keelung Modern International Music Festival in Taiwan, the Festival Wien Wiener Moderne, the Carinthian Summer and the Steirischer Herbst in Austria.

Among the numerous prizes she has received the State Scholarship of the Austrian Federal Chancellery, the Promotion Prize of the City of Vienna, the Honorary Composers Promotion Prize of the City of Vienna, an Honorary Prize of the Federal Ministry of Education Federal Ministry of Education, the Arts and Culture and a Promotion Prize of the Austro Mecana.
